Storybook Favorites
I read and looked through many different storybooks that I thought were beautifully written, however I narrowed the list to my top 3 favorites.
1. "LGBTQ+ The Other Side"

Let's start off this post with the storybook called, "The Other Side," This storybook caught my attention from the second I opened the home page. What this author did was define their own definition of what the other side of the coin means by stating that it is, "a different way of considering a situation." This helped aid me in what I should be expecting to get out of this storybook. Moving through this storybook, and onto the Introduction, I was left feeling eager to continue on. The Introduction portrayed a glimpse of the story by introducing the very start of the storybook. This left me wanting to read more, which is what I imagine is the exact goal for this author. I also loved how near the end of the introduction, there was a description of what I am going to read. I am familiar with the LGBTQ+ community, mainly because it has grown tremendously in our society today. In fact, I originally clicked on this particular storybook because I was interested in the title being about LGBTQ+, and it did not disappoint!

In this storybook, there was an image of a rainbow in the sky, symbolizing the LGBTQ+ community.
2. "Sky Siblings"
Moving onto another top favorite of mine is "Sky Siblings." There are many reasons why this storybook is one of my favorites, but my interest started at the Introduction. This introduction was so fun to read and had a nice flow to it. I like how it explained little details about all 3 siblings, because it gave me a sense of what their personalities will be like. The title caught me eye because my family is very close, and my siblings are my best friends, and I am so happy I had to opportunity to read this one! Another aspect of this storybook that I liked was the set up of the different stories. I liked how each story had a different sibling highlighted. If I have the opportunity to structure my own like this, I will! The overall tone and light-heartiness of this story is what set this one above the others.
3. "Life at Olympiad Living"
Last but certainly not least is "Life at Olympiad Living." I was hooked on this storybook from the very start, in fact after reading only the first paragraph of the introduction. I enjoyed it because of the sense of humor and the attitude that Zelus portrays. One thing that stuck out to me in a positive light was the length of the introduction. I thorough enjoyed the story line, so the fact that the introduction was longer, made it even better for me. Another aspect of the introduction I liked was the set up; It consisted of an overview of what the Gods and Goddesses at Olympiad do in a typical day. It was fun to read and feel as though I was diving into this world that they are in. From the 7th grade all the way up until my senior year of high school, I volunteered biweekly at a retirement home. I have a deep love and appreciation for the elderly, which is why I loved reading this storybook.
