Mythology and Folklore

Looking at all of the technology tools, I have a decent knowledge overall, but I am very familiar with Bookmarking. This is something I have been using quite frequently throughout my college years because it reassures me that if I accidentally close out of a tab, it's still saved. It has saved my life countless times already! I have taken a couple other online classes, but this one in particular is unique. In my other classes, I often felt clueless on what the assignments were, or how to complete them, but in this class, it is so organized and makes it easier on me. One skill I want to master this semester is blogging. I have always been intrigued by blogs, but I would love to continue on with blogging even after this class is over! I am most excited for the Storytelling assignments. I love to write, and in my writing, I like to make it easy going and fun. I think that with these assignments, I will be able to stretch my imagination and also strengthen my writing skills. This is completely unlike what I have ever done in my other classes, because it is an assignment that I can genuinely dive deep in my creativity. I really have not had an assignment that I would consider extremely fun, but I think that this assignment will be the first! A lot of the extra credit opportunities sound very entertaining and exciting, however the one that I am most excited for is the "Famous Last Words" opportunity. I can't wait to reflect the past week and write it down!

Time Management Strategies: Time management has always been one of the biggest challenges I face in regard to my academics. What I have found is that working ahead, and mainly staying on top of the material in class is the best way to manage your time, which will make you feel overall less overwhelmed. I read two different articles on time management and different strategies to use in the future. I had not had the opportunity of learning about or being familiar with Carol Dweck or the growth mindset prior to this class. Growth and your mindset are two things I value tremendously in my own life, so I am appreciative that I now have the ability to learn more about it. Being a senior in college now, I have learned a significant amount about how I learn, what works and what doesn't work, while my time here at OU. I have learned that not only attending class, but being PRESENT in class is the most beneficial aspect of the courses I have taken. In the past, I would only go to class because it was required, but once I started attending class to learn and be present, I saw a drastic change in my knowledge and grades. Another thing I learned was how to take notes that work for me and that will help my knowledge deepen. Hi y'all! My name is Madeline Heath and I am a senior at OU - every time I say that I am a senior, I get a little more sad to be leaving. Here at OU I am graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Health and Exercise Science, however my academic career will not end in the Spring. I read and looked through many different storybooks that I thought were beautifully written, however I narrowed the list to my top 3 favorites. 1. "LGBTQ+ The Other Side" https://sites.google.com/view/lgbtqstories/home Let's start off this post with the storybook called, "The Other Side," This storybook caught my attention from the second I opened the home page. What this author did was define their own definition of what the other side of the coin means by stating that it is, "a different way of considering a situation." This helped aid me in what I should be expecting to get out of this storybook. Moving through this storybook, and onto the Introduction, I was left feeling eager to continue on. The Introduction portrayed a glimpse of the story by introducing the very start of the storybook. This left me wanting to read more, which is what I imagine is the exact goal for this author. I have traveled quite often in my lifetime, as it is one of my passions, but my absolute favorite place in the world is my home state - Colorado. More specifically, Vail, Colorado. Vail, Colorado.  I was born and raised in a suburb of Denver called Highlands Ranch, Colorado. From the time that I can remember, my family has made it a tradition to spend time at our mountain home in Vail, Colorado. We enjoy skiing and hiking, like many mountain attendees do, but what we love to do when there is little to no snow in Vail, is walk around Vail Village. Here is a picture of Vail Village.
